Team Hungry: The why behind our name
"BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOR THEY WILL BE FILLED." MATT. 5:6
Hunger is a concept for something that can never be completely satisfied while here on earth. Hunger and thirst, as used in Matthew 5:6, describe an all-consuming craving, a desire, and a burning passion to satisfy a particular need. That hunger is a driving force in life that motivates, directs, and when not properly satisfied, brings about pain. In this context, Jesus uses the concept of hunger to bring about a greater meaning. If we crave, yearn, desire, and hunger for righteousness, we shall be filled. Team Hungry ultimately desires that people will hunger for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. We hope that when young people discover what they are hungry for that it will become a lifestyle of giving back. We desire for all to realize that only Jesus Christ can satisfy a person’s hunger.

Our Initiative is the process of intentional influence that takes place in the context of a relationship.

Projects
Student Driven
Team Hungry Projects spring forth from the hearts and minds of our students. Our theory is that as we position them with opportunities to learn, grow, and give back through action, it nurtures the innate desire to be givers and leaders in a world where their input is often overlooked.
As we develop our God-given passions, talents and callings, our faith demands us to take action (James 2:26). When one of our students encounters a need (removes- s) in the local community or around the world, we encourage them to develop a plan, a strategy that will help create a solution that will make a lasting impact. Our Educators + Advisors guide the students over the course of the project and connect them with additional organizations and leaders who offer wise and effective council ensuring success.
The tactical experience of ideating and executing a Team Hungry Project equips our students to become more effective leaders on their campuses, assets in the workplaces, and pillars of the local community.
Programs
Educator + Community Advisor Driven
Team Hungry Programs are the core elements that have proven to fulfill our mission to help every student become all they were created to be.
Many of our Programs began as student-led Projects. Programs like our weekly Prayer on the Porch and annual Nicaragua mission trips were born (remove- in) from a student’s desire for more. Realizing the tremendous impact these efforts make on our students, the decision was made to pursue them more passionately because of the immeasurable and lasting difference it has made and continues to make. These are the places and experiences that nurture deep relationships (removed- are formed) and where true discipleship happens.
Our Educators + Community Advisors (remove- are able to) truly invest in our students through Team Hungry Programs.
