What We Believe

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, trustworthy, and true Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • We believe there is one and only one living and true God. He is the Creator, Redeemer, and Preserver of all things. We believe God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. (Matthew 28:19)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is God in flesh born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and performed miracles witnessed by many. We believe Jesus Christ shed His blood upon the cross as the ultimate and final sacrifice for the sins of all mankind and through His bodily resurrection and ascension He now and forevermore sits at the right hand of God the Father in His rightful position in power and glory. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord.  (John 1:1; Matthew 1:18 & 25; Hebrews 4:15, 9:15-22, 9:27-28; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 1:9-11)

  • We believe that acceptance of Jesus Christ with corresponding renewal through the Holy Spirit is the singular path to salvation for lost/sinful men and women. It is offered freely to all who accept Jesus. Christ as Lord and Saviour. (John 3:16, 5:24; Titus 3:3-7)

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who lives within and guides Christians so they are enabled to live godly lives. We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit through ordinary people, and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are relevant for today. (John 1:33, 14:15-26, 16:5-16; Acts 1:5-9, 2:1-18; 1 Corinthians 12, 14:2-4, 14-19; Ephesians 1:13-14)

  • We believe in eternal life, and that through belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, we spend eternity with the Lord in heaven. We believe that in rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we receive eternal suffering in hell. (Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. (1 Timothy 2:5)

Why we do what we do

  • We believe that all have been created with gifts and talents, unique and specific to the individual, but all important, to advance the body of Christ. We believe that these gifts and talents may serve as indicator and symbol of one’s God-ordained purpose. (Romans 12: 6; 1 Corinthians 7:7, 12: 1-11; Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Peter 4:11-12)

  • We believe God called each of us to participate in His work. (2 Peter 1:3-4; Ephesians 4:1; Romans 8:28)

  • We believe students who believe and follow Christ will do great works. (John 14:12)

  • We believe our purpose and goal in life is to become like Christ. (Romans 8:29)
